Description

The SITRANS P500 has been developed to meet the highest expectations for measuring accuracy, ruggedness, and user-friendliness, and it merges seamlessly into the SITRANS P family. With the SITRANS P500, you can expect pressure measurement at the highest level.

It guarantees an accuracy of ≤ 0.03 % as well as outstanding values for the influence of static pressure and temperature on the measured result. In this way, it guarantees a total performance of ≤ 0.09 % up to a turndown of 10:1. Since this feature means that only one measuring cell can be used for different measuring ranges, inventory costs can be significantly reduced without the need for losses in the quality of the measured result. The high long-term stability of the sensor also reduces maintenance costs thanks to extended calibration intervals, and ensures that you can always rely on the measured results in the long term.

An innovated sensor assembly enables direct-connected use in process temperatures of up to 125 °C (257 °F) even without a remote seal system. With an improved 3-pushbutton operator input concept for setting the device, the SITRANS P500‘s host of diagnostics options can be used conveniently without software. Even curve displays and trend diagrams can be represented on the display for user-friendly process monitoring.

SITRANS P500 is also suitable for use in safety instrumented systems SIL2 according to IEC 61508 / 61511.

1. Components

The system basically consists of the following components:

  • Carrier modules for interface modules:  The carrier modules are used for the electrical and mechanical connection of the individual modules.
  • Interface modules (IM) for connection to PROFINET single or redundant. The fieldbus is connected via the Busadapter (BA), which allows connection technology and physics to be freely selected according to the application requirements.
  • Server module closes the station.
  • Carrier modules for I/O modules: By connecting the carrier modules to the terminal blocks, the slots for the I/O modules are created.
  • Terminal blocks: The terminal blocks provide the process terminals for connecting the sensors, actuators and other devices.
  • I/O modules determine the function of the module at the terminals. I/O modules are subdivided into module types. These are characterized in each case by modul-type-specfic and colored square printed on the front.

Slot covers can be inserted on the integrated terminal blocks, which can be replaced at any time. In addition, the online station expansion of the SIMATIC ET 200SP HA offer advantages in terms of system flexibility and plant availability. Benefit from the seamless integration in SIMATIC PCS 7. The SIMATIC ET 200SP HA with the Advanced Process Library offers flexible and simple online parameterization and selection of up to four HART variables on each channel of an I/O module. 

Maximum availability 
Plant downtime considerably reduces the economic efficiency of process plants. Redundant, flexible components significantly increase the availability of the plant. Besides operating the SIMATIC ET 200SP HA station redundantly via the PROFINET interface, there is also the possibility of a redundant set up of the I/O modules. This is realized by using a terminal block for integrated I/O redundancy which results in both economy of space and cost efficiency. With the new design and its standardized terminal blocks, redundant and single wiring are related to the same wiring effort.  

Compact design
The compact size with up to 56 peripheral modules per station and the high channel density of up to 32 channels on a 22.5 mm wide module reduces the space requirement in the control cabinet to a minimum.

Description

SCALANCE XM-400 switches offer you more – and effectively address the growing demands of your communication network. The pluggable transceivers with various connectors (for SC, ST/BFOC and LC connection technology) offer you maximum flexibility for automation networks. Thanks to their modular architecture, these Industrial Ethernet switches allow for tool-free expansion with port extenders.

With the help of the KEY-PLUG XM-400, Layer 3 functions can also be optionally activated – thus further increasing performance.

SCALANCE XR-300EEC

Use in harsh environments

The SCALANCE XR-300EEC (Enhanced Environmental Conditions) managed Industrial Ethernet Switches are racks switches for installation in a 19″ control cabinet and especially designed for power plants or extreme environmental conditions.

The SCALANCE XR-300EEC switches feature high noise immunity and can be used in an extended temperature range (-40°to +80C), for example, in energy automation applications.

Some of them are modular, in other words, up to four media modules can be freely plugged in, thus enabling flexible network construction or expansion.

SCALANCE X-300/XR-300

High performance for plant structuring

The SCALANCE X-300/XR-300 managed Industrial Ethernet switches are highly suited for configuring line, star and ring topologies (10/100 Mbps) in plants. Their modular design allows for easy system expansion using various media modules: up to 24 electric or four optical ports (BFOC/ST) for distances up to 26km.

The switches provide high-speed redundancy in the ring and, thanks of the C-PLUG removable medium, can be easily replaced in the event of a fault without specialized skills.

The MM992-2VD media module (variable distance), which is plugged into a modular SCALANCE X-300 switch or SCALANCE S627-2M security module, can use any two-wire cables for Ethernet connections up to 1000 m. This includes, for example, land lines, lines through fireproof bulkheads or along pipelines, which can be very difficult to replace. It can also be used to establish a PROFINET connection up to 300 m.
