SITRANS RD200

The SITRANS RD200 is a universal input, panel mount remote digital display for process instrumentation.

The RD200 is a universal remote display for level, flow, pressure, temperature, weighing, and other process instruments. Data can be remotely collected, logged and presented from as many as 100 displays on your local computer using the free downloadable RD Software.

The display accepts a single input of current, voltage, thermocouple, and RTD. This makes the RD200 an ideal fit for use with most field instruments.

The RD200 can be set up as a standard panel mount, or combined with optional enclosures to allow it to house up to 6 displays.

Key Applications: tank farms, pump alternation control, local or remote display of level, temperature, flow, pressure and weighing instrument values, PC monitoring and data logging with RD Software.

SITRANS RD100

The SITRANS RD100 is a 2-wire loop powered, NEMA 4X enclosed remote digital display for process instrumentation.

The RD100 is very versatile. It can be installed indoors or outdoors, in hot or cold environments, and in safe or hazardous areas.

It has been approved by FM and CSA as Intrinsically Safe and non-incendive, and operates from -40 to +85 ºC (-40 to +185 ºF), adding only 1 V to the loop.

The RD100 has a large 1″ (2.54 cm) high display making it easy to read.

Calibration consists of a quick two-step process involving the adjustment of only two non-interacting potentiometers.

Key Applications: Remotely displays process variables in level, flow, pressure, temperature and weighing applications, in a 4 to 20 mA loop

SITRANS LG

SITRANS LR260

SITRANS LR260 is a 2-wire 25 GHz pulse radar level transmitter for continuous monitoring of solids and liquids  in storage vessels including extreme levels of dust and high temperatures, to a range of 30m (98.4 ft).

SITRANS LR260 includes a graphical local user interface (LUI) that improves setup and operation using an intuitive Quick Start Wizard, and echo profile displays for diagnostic support. Startup is easy using the Quick Start wizard with a few parameters required for basic operation.

SITRANS LR260’s unique design allows safe and simple programming using the Intrinsically Safe handheld programmer without having to open the instrument’s lid.

SITRANS LR260 measures virtually any solids material to a range of 30 m (98.4 ft).

1. Components

The system basically consists of the following components:

  • Carrier modules for interface modules:  The carrier modules are used for the electrical and mechanical connection of the individual modules.
  • Interface modules (IM) for connection to PROFINET single or redundant. The fieldbus is connected via the Busadapter (BA), which allows connection technology and physics to be freely selected according to the application requirements.
  • Server module closes the station.
  • Carrier modules for I/O modules: By connecting the carrier modules to the terminal blocks, the slots for the I/O modules are created.
  • Terminal blocks: The terminal blocks provide the process terminals for connecting the sensors, actuators and other devices.
  • I/O modules determine the function of the module at the terminals. I/O modules are subdivided into module types. These are characterized in each case by modul-type-specfic and colored square printed on the front.

Slot covers can be inserted on the integrated terminal blocks, which can be replaced at any time. In addition, the online station expansion of the SIMATIC ET 200SP HA offer advantages in terms of system flexibility and plant availability. Benefit from the seamless integration in SIMATIC PCS 7. The SIMATIC ET 200SP HA with the Advanced Process Library offers flexible and simple online parameterization and selection of up to four HART variables on each channel of an I/O module. 

Maximum availability 
Plant downtime considerably reduces the economic efficiency of process plants. Redundant, flexible components significantly increase the availability of the plant. Besides operating the SIMATIC ET 200SP HA station redundantly via the PROFINET interface, there is also the possibility of a redundant set up of the I/O modules. This is realized by using a terminal block for integrated I/O redundancy which results in both economy of space and cost efficiency. With the new design and its standardized terminal blocks, redundant and single wiring are related to the same wiring effort.  

Compact design
The compact size with up to 56 peripheral modules per station and the high channel density of up to 32 channels on a 22.5 mm wide module reduces the space requirement in the control cabinet to a minimum.

SCALANCE XF-200BA DNA (Y-Switch)

PROFINET for process automation

The industrial Ethernet switch SCALANCE XF204-2BA DNA (Dual Network Access) enables integration of S2 devices in a high-availability PROFINET system (R1 system) via what is termed as Y-Switch functionality.

  • Two ports of the Y-Switch enable the connection of S2 devices using the media redundancy method, MRP. This can be implemented selectively via copper or fiber optic in a ring structure.
  • The two other ports establish the network connection from the Y-Switch to a high-availability R1 system.

Y-switch functionality additionally increases the availability of a process plant and helps avoid plant standstills.

The BA 2xRJ45VD HA BusAdapter is capable of both standard Ethernet communication via 4-wire cables (twisted pair) and data transfer via 2-wire cables (single twisted pair). This means existing PROFIBUS DP infrastructures can continue to be used, thereby avoiding costly retrofitting at the field level in particular.
